Domestic violence is a pervasive and devastating issue that affects individuals, families, and communities worldwide. For the past 50 years, Partners for Peace has paved the way to provide critical support, advocacy, and education to people impacted by domestic violence right here in our own communities of Penobscot and Piscataquis counties.
To celebrate this milestone, we are hosting a special event on Friday, October 6, 2023, 5-8pm at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. We’re excited to share our accomplishments as Maine’s 1st domestic violence resource center and our vision for the next 50 years of inclusive programming and services. Tickets will go on sale this summer.
We are seeking local business sponsors who share our vision of a world free from domestic violence and who are committed to making a positive impact in their communities. Please visit our Corporate Sponsor Page for sponsorship opportunities.
OUR COLLECTIVE STORY PROJECT
In honor of our 50-year history, we’re gathering 50 stories from individuals and groups in our region to uplift the voices of those affected by domestic violence and abuse.
Our vision is to collect 50 diverse stories of people with lived experiences in multiple formats: written stories, poetry, artwork, photography and more. Attendees at our 50th-anniversary event will get to preview the project! Learn more and share your story: Our Collective Story.
