Partners for Peace, the domestic violence resource center serving Penobscot and Piscataquis Counties, invites applications for a variety of positions. Ideal candidates are empathetic, dependable, passionate about our work, and can support people in crisis. We are hiring for the following positions:

 

Shelter Program Coordinator – Based in Bangor

Child Protective Services- Domestic Violence (CPS-DV) Liaison – Based in Bangor

Rural Outreach Advocates (2) – Based in Dover-Foxcroft with frequent travel to Lincoln area

Advocacy Services Program Manager (Job Description Coming Soon)

 

Required Role on 24-Hour Helpline  

 

All staff trained as advocates participate in providing coverage for our 24-hour helpline to answer calls from survivors of domestic abuse. During helpline calls, advocates support survivors with safety planning, crisis intervention, information, and referrals. Advocates complete the 45-60 hours of the Maine Coalition to End Domestic Violence approved basic training which includes role plays, observation, and individual support before covering the helpline. On-call, after-hours shifts include back-up support and are scheduled for overnights and weekends, including holidays, on a rotating basis.

 

Schedule, Pay, and Benefits

  • Four-day/32-hour work week: all staff are assigned to work four 8-hour days from M-Th or Tue-Fri; schedules are assigned based on position and program/agency needs
  • Hybrid work model options available after six months of employment; varies depending on position/worksite
